20121026 - Abusing 3D Stereo for Better Non-Stereo

Anyone try this?

Render 1920x1080 @ 60Hz with split screen stereo (960x1080 per eye) for your HDTV. Except don't use the stereo. Instead render non-stereo at 120 Hz, pairing two frames per scan-out into the split screen at 60 Hz. With shutter glasses on, HDTV being in 3D stereo mode breaks the LCD scan-and-hold pattern which causes blur in motion. The brain gets 120 Hz, just only 60 Hz per eye.
